as foundations for a XL lightweight hall (2,700 square meter)
Difficult soil conditions can quickly result in the costs of a construction project exploding, especially where a complex foundation with drilled piles would be required. The foundation with STEEL-ROOT® is a much more cost-effective option. STEEL-ROOT® can also be used for XL lightweight halls that are to be erected at a certain location for a certain period of time only. They can be vacated again after the useful life. Moreover, it is not necessary to dispose of excavated soil.
Below you can see an installation example of a lightweight hall with the help of STEEL-ROOT® foundations.
We deliver our STEEL-ROOT®-Foundations ...
1.) with a height adjustable flange plate, for placing the support beams or
2.) with a quiver in which the support beams are embedded in concrete.
First of all, the excavation of the construction pits takes place at regular intervals. The previously installed STEEL-ROOT® foundations – the installation takes place outside the construction pit – are then positioned on the subgrade. The exact alignment of the STEEL-ROOT® foundations is done by lining the base plates.
The excavation pit is then closed again. The excavated soil previously removed is used to backfill the construction pit. The whole thing is compressed in layers. The STEEL-ROOT® foundations can then be loaded immediately.
Only the connection flange of the STEEL-ROOT® foundations now protrudes from the ground. This connection flange has an adjustment adapter that enables horizontal alignment to the millimeter. A connection plate is screwed onto the flange, which is dimensioned exactly to the connections of the aluminum side profiles.
After the frictional connection has been established, the tie bars can be erected with the help of a mobile crane and screwed to the ridge.

Thanks to the STEEL-ROOT® foundations it is possible to build a lightweight hall within shortest time. Thus, STEEL-ROOT® foundations are also suitable for temporary buildings. The XL lightweight hall shown here is 90 meters long, 30 meters wide and has a ridge height of 7 meters (with a side height of 5.20 meters). A total of 41 STEEL-ROOT® foundations were used in this 2,700 square meter lightweight hall. More information on the installation of this lightweight hall XL.
